This page explains where the information on this website comes from, how we check it, and how to tell us about a mistake.
Where our information comes from
- Treatment pages are written by our team from published health information, such as national health service pages and hospital information. They explain treatments in plain words. They are not medical advice, and they have not yet been reviewed by a doctor.
- Visa, travel and scheme facts come from official government websites. We name the source and link to it, and say the date we checked it.
- Doctor and hospital profiles come from the routes described below.
Review dates
- Each treatment page shows the date our team last reviewed it. A treatment page without a review date is not published.
- Visa and travel facts show a "checked on" date.
- Doctor profiles compiled from public sources show the date we checked them.
- This policy and our legal pages show a "Last updated" date.
Hospital profiles
- We publish a hospital only when it has a written partnership agreement with us.
- We ask the hospital to supply and approve its profile details. When it has approved them, the page shows the month it did so.
- An accreditation is shown with its type and the date it is valid until. We hide it after it expires.
- A price range is shown only when the hospital has confirmed it, with the month it did so. We remove a range 12 months after that month unless the hospital confirms it again.
Doctor profiles
A doctor profile is published in one of two ways.
- Hospital route: the partner hospital supplies and approves the profile, and we keep its written approval. The page says "Profile details supplied and approved by the hospital", with the month.
- Panel route: the doctor is on the India Medical Cart panel, as confirmed by our company. We compile the profile from public sources, such as hospital profile pages, the doctor's own website, news reports and the National Medical Commission register. The page says "Profile compiled by India Medical Cart from public sources", with the date we checked it, and names its sources.
On every profile:
- We show a registration number only after we have checked it on the National Medical Commission register, with the date we checked it.
- We give facts only: name, role, qualifications, places of practice, specialty and years of experience from the sources we name.
- We do not publish surgery or patient counts, "first" claims, award lists or doctor photos.
- We never say that a treatment cures a disease or promise a result.
No ranking
- We do not rank doctors or hospitals, and we do not call any of them better than others.
- Doctors are listed in alphabetical order of name. Hospitals are listed in a fixed order set by our team, which is not a ranking.
Patient stories
We do not publish patient stories, reviews or photos. If we do in future, we will publish them only with the patient's written consent, and we will explain how on this page first.
