Entry facts for families researching treatment in India

Countries We Have Guides For

Each guide gives the Indian visa route for that country, what the visa costs, and whether you need a yellow fever certificate to enter India.

What a Country Guide Tells You

A country guide sets out the Indian medical visa route for that nationality: which visa to apply for, what it costs, how long it is valid, and the documents and steps involved. It also states how many family members can travel as attendants, and whether you need a yellow fever certificate or must declare currency at the airport. Some guides note how to change hospitals after arrival, or what to do if treatment takes longer than your visa allows.

Visa rules and fees can change, and only the Government of India decides who is granted a visa. The date on each guide shows when we last checked its facts, so you know how current they are. If you notice something that looks out of date, tell us and we will check it. Before a guide is published, one coordinator writes it and a second person checks it against the official rules; a guide that has not yet been checked and verified is not published, so everything here has been reviewed. Each guide also links to the official government pages it draws its facts from, wherever one exists.

You will also see a few country guides linked from the home page and the footer; this page lists every guide we have published.

Choose a Country

Apply Online for an e-Medical Visa

These countries are on India's published list for the e-Medical Visa, so you apply on the official website rather than going to a mission in person. Each guide gives the fee for that citizenship.

Apply at an Indian Mission

These countries are not on that published list, so you will almost certainly have to apply in person at an Indian embassy or consulate. That takes longer and needs more documents, so start early.

Some of these countries are on India's yellow fever list, and a traveller arriving from one needs a vaccination certificate to enter. Each guide says whether yours is.

If Your Country Is Not Here

It only means we have not written its entry facts up yet, not that we cannot help. We help families from any country, and the enquiry form takes every one of them. Tell us your diagnosis in your own words, the country you live in and who will travel with you; we do not need a published guide for your country to ask accredited hospitals for written quotes on your behalf. Ask us for a quote, and a coordinator will answer.
