India Medical Cart is a medical travel facilitator, not a hospital and not a doctor. We arrange written quotes and coordinate travel. Every medical decision stays with you and with the treating doctor.
We Will Never Pay You for a Referral
We will not offer you a commission, a gift or a case rate, and we will not ask you to send us patients. If anyone contacts you claiming to represent India Medical Cart and offers you money for a referral, they do not represent us โ please tell us, and see Beware of Scams.
This is not only our preference. The Indian Medical Council's Code of Ethics Regulations, 2002 bars a physician from giving or receiving any gift, gratuity, commission or bonus in consideration of a referral (clause 6.4.1), and treats soliciting patients, directly or indirectly, as unethical (clause 6.1.1). A facilitator paying for referrals would be asking Indian doctors and hospitals to work against their own code.
Indian Medical Council (Professional Conduct, Etiquette and Ethics) Regulations, 2002, clauses 6.1.1 and 6.4.1. These regulations now sit under the National Medical Commission.
How a Case Reaches Us
- The family contacts us themselves. You send us nothing and you sign nothing. There is no agreement between us and no account for you to open.
- Your name is not used. We do not name a referring doctor in our correspondence with hospitals, in our marketing, or anywhere on this website.
- Reports come through a private upload link that expires, not through email or WhatsApp. How that works is on Sending Your Medical Reports Safely.
- We do not diagnose and we do not give second opinions. The hospitals' own doctors read the reports and answer.
What We Will Check for You
If you would like something verified before you mention a hospital to a family, ask us and we will answer in writing.
- Accreditation, with a date. We check that a hospital's accreditation is valid on the day we shortlist it, and we show the badge only while it stays valid.
- A doctor's registration. We publish the date we last checked a doctor's qualifications and where they practise. Where we could not verify a registration number against the public register, we leave it out rather than print it.
- Whether a partnership exists. We tell you in writing whether we hold a partnership agreement with a hospital, or that we do not yet.
The rules we shortlist by are set out on Hospitals.
What Comes Back to You
You are the doctor who sees this patient next. Before the family leaves India we ask the hospital for the records you will need, and we tell the family to bring them to you.
- The discharge summary โ what was done, what was found and what happens next.
- The medicines, with the generic name and the dose, so that what is dispensed at home matches what was prescribed.
- The reports and the scans from the treatment itself.
- A written follow-up plan, including any physiotherapy, and the warning signs the family was told to watch for.
What we tell the family to collect before discharge is on After You Go Home.
What We Will Not Do
- Rank doctors or hospitals. No hospital suits every patient โ only the one that fits a diagnosis, a budget and a family.
- Promise an outcome. No outcome is promised anywhere on this website, and none will be promised to your patient.
- Handle money for treatment. The family pays the hospital directly, into the hospital's own account, and gets a receipt. They pay us nothing.
- Take your patient off your list. We arrange a journey and then it ends. The care afterwards is yours.
This page is general information, not medical advice. Whether a treatment is right for you is decided by the treating doctor after reviewing your reports.
Asking Us Something
If you want an accreditation date, a registration check, or simply to know whether a message really came from us, write to us and say you are a referring doctor. We answer within one working day.
