A quote can change after the hospital's doctors examine you. Ask the hospital to explain any change in writing before you pay.

What a Hospital Quote Usually Covers

Every hospital writes its own quote, so ask each one to list both sides of this in writing before you choose. These are the lines families are most often surprised by.

A quote is not a final bill. Ask how long it is valid, and what happens to the price if the doctors change the plan after they examine you.

How It Works

  1. Tell Us What You Need

A coordinator contacts you within one working day (India time).

  2. We Ask Hospitals for Quotes

Sending the form does not send your details to any hospital. Before we ask hospitals for quotes, we tell you which hospitals we will ask.

  3. You Compare and Choose

The quotes side by side. You choose.

  4. Travel, Treatment and Home

The hospital writes the letter for your medical visa. We stay in touch after you go home.

You Are Not Doing This Alone

We do not rank doctors, and no doctor pays to be listed. A hospital may also propose one of its own consultants for your case; if you would rather see a particular doctor, ask, and the hospital confirms whether they are available.

Coming to India From Your Country

Each guide gives the Indian visa route for that country, what the visa costs, and whether you need a yellow fever certificate to enter India. Every fact on those pages is checked against a Government of India source and carries the date we checked it.

If your country is not here yet, it only means we have not written its entry facts up. Ask us and a coordinator will answer.

Before, During and After Your Trip

Treatment is the middle of it. These are the parts families ask us about most, and each has a page of its own.

  • Visa and Travel

The patient applies for an e-Medical visa, and a family member who comes to care for you can apply for an e-Medical Attendant visa. The hospital you choose writes the letter you need. Apply only on the official Government of India website — we do not sell visas, and nobody can promise you one.

  • Staying in India

Most families stay in a hospital guest house, a serviced apartment with a kitchen, or a hotel nearby. Ask before you book what the room costs per night, whether one relative can stay with the patient in hospital, and how far it is to walk back.

  • After You Go Home

Before you leave the hospital, ask for your discharge summary, a list of your medicines, copies of your reports and the warning signs to watch for. Ask whether the hospital offers follow-up by video. We check in with you while you recover.

Before You Pay Anyone

People do pretend to be facilitators, hospital staff and embassy officials. Three things are always true of us, and you can hold us to them.

If a message asks you for money in our name, stop and tell us. The eight checks to make before you pay or share anything.
