Not every back problem needs surgery. Before a hospital in India sends a written quote, spine surgeons or brain surgeons (neurosurgeons) review your case. They look at your MRI or CT reports and images, and your symptoms. They may suggest surgery, physiotherapy or more tests. After brain tumour surgery, some people also need radiotherapy, which means a longer stay. You may need physiotherapy after you go home. You can ask for a second opinion on whether you need surgery. The treating doctor decides which treatment is right for you.

Questions Families Ask About Brain and Spine
How Long Should We Plan to Be in India for Brain or Spine Treatment?
Ask the hospital, because it depends on the operation and on how you recover. Spine surgery often needs time to pass before a long flight is comfortable, and brain tumour surgery may be followed by radiotherapy, which adds weeks. Get the hospital's own figure in writing.
What Should I Send Before Asking for a Quote?
Your MRI or CT reports and the scan images themselves, any X-rays, a note of your symptoms and how long you have had them, and a list of your medicines. Ask the hospital how recent the scans have to be.
Is Surgery Always the Answer for Back or Neck Pain?
No. Many back and neck problems are treated without an operation, with physiotherapy, injections or pain treatment. The treating doctor decides, and you can ask a second hospital for its view before you agree to anything.
Can I Get an Opinion from More than One Hospital?
Yes. We ask 2 or 3 accredited hospitals, and each hospital's doctors read your reports and answer separately. You compare the written quotes and you choose.
Will Someone Explain the Scans to Me?
Ask the hospital. The doctors who wrote your quote have read your scans, and you can ask them to explain what they found and why they recommend what they recommend, before you travel.
Do You Give a Second Opinion Yourselves?
No. India Medical Cart is a medical travel facilitator, not a hospital or a doctor. What we do is get you written opinions from accredited hospitals, so that you have more than one to read.
